Accident At Work
Ms B worked as an administrator in a factory. She helped in the day to day running of the business and often helped with the
stacking and storage of goods.
On the day of her accident Ms B was stacking crates when her left hand slipped and the crate twisted in her right hand, injuring her
right wrist and arm.
Ms B had received no training about lifting heavy object. There were no warning signs where she worked.
Initially Ms B though she had sprained her arm. She consulted two firms of solicitors who thought she did not have a claim.
Ultimately she came to Ormrods.
We pursued her claim on the basis that her employer had failed to comply with the Health & Safety at Work Regulations and had not
given her proper training in lifting and handling.
The employer admitted liability.
Ms B's symptoms were complicated. By instructing the proper experts we were able to establish that the client was suffering from
Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome and ultimately we secured a settlement of £120,000 for the client.
